Introduction to Kayaking Course (Level 1)

Prerequisite: Must be able to swim and keep your head above water

This course includes the below skills and knowledge to complete the full ACA Level 1 Introduction to Kayaking curriculum.

Basics (morning):
- Properly fit & adjust your kayak
- Properly grip & control your paddle
- Understand necessary safety considerations
- Gracefully enter and exit your kayak from shore
- Perform basic strokes and maneuvers

Advanced (afternoon): - Perform a wet exit properly
- Rescue others and be rescued in deep water
- Rescue yourself (without help) in deep water using a paddle float
- Perform your basic manuevers even better
- Learn the low brace to avoid a capsize
- Learn advanced manuevers like the stern rudder and sculling draw

Come ready to get wet (yes, you will get wet) and have a good time on this skill and confidence building class. No experience is necessary.
